In a Rut? It can all change with an Orange!!

So, I've had a complete shift in my life this past week! Yes it's perhaps a little early to be shouting from the rooftops "Life is Perfect!", however, the positive and powerful impact it has had on me already, IS something to shout about!

It happens to the best of us. We put our heads down, push through each day, let ourselves settle into a certain kind of rut, and before we know it we’re restless and weary and can’t figure out how we got there. 

If you’re feeling this way, as I was, making some key routine changes could offer the variety you didn’t even know you were looking for in your life.

However, before I begin to share my secrets, a special thank you to a friend who planted the seed in my life only a week ago, and lives his everyday life with gratitude and positivity. Such an honour to be around people with a healthy mindset. THANK YOU XX

Remove Negative Words From Your Vocabulary

As cheesy as it may seem, make a conscious effort to remove negativity from your life. Start with your own vocabulary by not allowing yourself to say words and phrases such as “I wish I could…”, “can’t,” “won’t,” “never,” and “shouldn’t.”. Additionally, stop negative thought patterns in their track and diverge to something else immediately.

We've all heard it, 'this type of positive thinking can train your subconscious to change the way you view things', but I'd like to add to that.  Now that I have changed my routine, my negative, nagging thoughts have lessened as a direct result.  

Set Fitness Goals

Everyone knows that exercise is good for your health. Most of us have attempted to improve our exercise habits. Some are admittedly more successful than others. So take this opportunity to actually do it. Incorporate regular exercise into your daily routine and see what it does to your body, your attitude, and your general outlook on life.

In no time you’ll be reducing your stress level, boosting your metabolism, and increasing brain function among a host of other positive health perks.

Look for areas to ride a bike or jog nearby. I have a great park that runs alongside a creek for miles and despite my changing routine as a week on week off parent, I have incorporated either a morning walk for an hour everyday, where I plan my day or after school with my son to talk and walk and plan the next days events.

Oh and the part about the orange! I was given a bag of homegrown oranges on the 1st day I had planned and promised to walk the local park for an hour and one of them had written in black texta 'LIVE LIFE'! It resonated so loudly, I haven't stopped walking...
